Growing up in a secular household in Los Angeles, Ben believed religion was a crutch for the weak and that having faith was the equivalent of committing intellectual suicide. That all changed in 1992. Attempting to discredit Christianity to a friend, Ben set out to read the book of John and point out all the “inconsistencies” of the faith. Instead, to his great surprise, he was convinced of the truth of the Person and work of Jesus Christ.
Ben repented and put his faith in Christ as his Lord and Savior. After reaching the truth, he wanted to serve the Lord fully and earned an M.A. in Biblical Studies and a Master’s of Divinity from The Master's Seminary in CA.
Prior to coming to Harvest, Ben served as an elder, deacon, teacher, and counselor at various churches throughout California. He heard of Pastor James MacDonald through The Master’s Seminary and attended Harvest University. There he was amazed at how much he learned about the church and how Harvest would make a great ministry partner for their existing church in Fresno, CA. Ben desires to use Harvest Fresno to fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20.
Ben and his wife Sonja are raising two young sons.
